Youth Soccer Assistant Coach (Ages 5-13) - Join Our Team!

Do you have a passion for working with children and a love for soccer? FC Rockers, a nonprofit organization, is seeking enthusiastic individuals who are patient and dedicated to shaping young minds. We're currently looking for a dynamic youth soccer coach to lead engaging sessions. Our classes take place in beautiful Irvine, California. We provide comprehensive training, coaching equipment, and all materials. We're looking for coaches who can commit to multiple sessions throughout the week, especially during our designated session times.

Responsibilities:

The assistant coach will be always working under the supervision of the head coach onsite with following responsibilities:

• Conducting engaging and enjoyable training sessions.
• Working with children of all skill levels to create an environment that encourages personal and team growth.
• Helping head coaches to design drills for children according to their skill levels and interests including Cone and Ladder Agility Drills, Dribbling and ball control, One-on-One Battles, Passing Pairs, Shooting Target Practice, and Passing Circles, etc.
• Delivering age-appropriate training sessions that focus on technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical development.
• Setting up and dismantling equipment.
• Following head coach instructions to ensure the smooth flow of sessions.
• Ensuring a safe environment for kids and fellow coaches, promptly reporting any unsafe circumstances to the head coach onsite.
• Monitoring and assessing each player’s performance throughout each session and report to the head coaches
• Effective communication with children and parents to foster a positive experience for all.

Licenses or Certifications:

• US Soccer’s "Introduction to Grassroots Coaching" (Mandatory)
• US Soccer’s “4v4 Grassroots” and “7v7 Grassroots” Coaching Licenses (Mandatory)
• US Soccer’s “9v9 Grassroots” and “11v11 Grassroots” Coaching Licenses or above (Preferred)

Essential Soccer Coaching Qualifications:

• Availability: Minimum 2 days per week (schedule varies).
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and an enthusiastic personality to motivate young athletes.
• Patience, empathy, and effective communication skills with children and parents.
• Genuine passion for youth development and soccer.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license.
• Cleared background check, including Child Abuse History Clearance.
• Enthusiasm for teaching young children and making FC Rockers a highlight of their week.
• Ability to lift, pull, and push approximately 100 pounds of equipment.
• Bilingual (English/Farsi) or (English/Spanish).

Preferred Coaching Qualifications:

• Playing soccer experience.
• Experience working with children.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Previous teaching, education, or coaching experience, preferably with kids ages 5-13.
• Job Type: Part-time Pay: $16 - $20 per hour (depends on qualifications)

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends
• Holidays
